ABSTRACT
This article describes how the therapeutic relationship can be described in the perspective of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). There is the hypothesis that the assessing of therapeutic relationship can broaden of CBT therapy’s effectiveness. Transference, countertransference, noncollaboration and dysfunctional beliefs holding by psychotherapists are discussed in the context of cognitive-behavioral therapy. Furthermore the article presents findings from a social cognitive psychology which support some clinical concepts of understanding and modifying the relational schemas.
