ABSTRACT
Objective:
The aim of the study was to examine the role of clinical supervision in psychiatric teams
and to compare three models of its implementation in different institutional settings.
Method:
Three supervision models were described: in an adult psychosis treatment ward, a child and adolescent psychiatric ward, and a Community Mental Health Centre. The qualitative analysis was supplemented by a pilot SE-SC8 questionnaire study involving 79 staff members, including 44 participants who had received supervision.
Results:
Across all three models, supervision supported the organization of clinical thinking, regulation of emotional burden, and integration of different professional perspectives. Supervised staff reported high levels of satisfaction and perceived improvement in clinical competence, with significant differences between centres and the highest ratings observed in Kościerzyna.
Conclusions:
Effective clinical supervision should be adapted to the specific institutional context, team structure, and patient population. Its key function is to provide a reflective space that helps teams organize clinical experience, integrate perspectives, and regain the capacity for constructive action.
