Psychotherapists expectations of supervision and their opinion on supervision principles were studied. Analysis of the study results is presented. Members of the Polish Psychiatric Association Sections of Psychotherapy and of Family Therapy were asked via E-mail to answer the same way to the authors', Sonda questionnaire. Respondents could choose an anonymous way of answering. Almost 15% responded. Quantitative analysis of answers to 8 yes/no/? questions and qualitative analysis of answers to 1 open question suggest a shared opinion on psychotherapy supervision goals such as: ordering the therapeutic process; helping the therapist to understand her/his emotions in therapy; support; stimulation of the therapist's potentials. There was no unanimity concerning supervisors steering therapy being supervised. The same concerned sensitivity to supervisee mistakes and open critique. Respondents varied in their perception of impact of supervisor opinion on their advances in professional career. It seems also, that psychotherapists do not share a common concept of diagnosis for psychotherapy.
