Structure and evolution of psychotherapeutic discourse in Poland: a bibliometric analysis of keywords in the journal "Psychoterapia" (2005–2025)

Objective:
The aim of the study was to examine the thematic structure and changes in psychotherapeutic discourse represented in the journal Psychoterapia between 2005 and 2025.
Method:
A bibliometric analysis of keywords from 364 articles was conducted, including analyses of frequency, temporal trends, and thematic co-occurrence.
Results:
The most frequent topics concerned the psychotherapy process, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and personality disorders. An increase in the presence of cognitive-behavioral therapy and newer topics, including online psychotherapy, was observed.
Conclusions:
The journal’s discourse is pluralistic, while retaining a clear psychodynamic and relational core alongside the growing presence of other therapeutic approaches.
