ABSTRACT
The article presents the rules of conducting group psychotherapy for psychotic patients in the psychoanalytic approach. Basic phenomena and important elements of the group process, in the context of difficulties experienced by psychotic patients are discussed. Difficulties which can be experienced by the therapists conducting group psychotherapy are also identified. The text is supplemented by examples illustrating the described processes. The main effect of the presented group psychotherapy is a change of the nature of the defence mechanisms used by patients and improvement in the quality of their relationships with others. This is possible as the effect of the whole group's development, which is beneficial for individual persons participating in the psychotherapy.
