ABSTRACT
The importance of group psychotherapy in the psychiatric hospital adolescents' unit has been stressed in many publications. This kind of therapy is usually the main form of treatment of adolescents with various mental disorders. Choosing the proper form of group therapy and integrating it with other methods of treatment is a challenging task. The character of the adolescents ward requires the ability to combine the goals of therapy with the actual situation of the hospital. This article focuses on this topic and presents some examples taken from the psychiatric adolescents ward at the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology in Warsaw.
