STRESZCZENIE
The paper presents some basic concepts and principles of the theory of neuropsychoanalysis. The aim of neuro-psychoanalysis is making links between psychoanalysis and contemporary neuroscience. It is not a psychoanalytical school. The conceptual as well as historical background of neuro-psychoanalysis is described in connection with Freud's way of thinking. The philosophical basis of neuro-psychoanalysis and the way in which it resolves the mind-body problem is also addressed. The most important researchers for the development of this field are Mark Solms (neuropsychologist and psychoanalyst) and Jaak Panksepp (neuroscientist). An example of using neurobiological data in the context of psychoanalytic controversy about fear is presented.
