STRESZCZENIE
Therapy with art, called art therapy or artpsychotherapy is a form of professional psychological help. Exploring its working mechanisms is a vital task for art therapy research and practice. This aim can be achieved by analysing changes observed on the neurophysiological level during art therapy sessions. Neuropsychological theories and research findings show that art therapy can lead to significant changes such as an increase in the brain hemisphere integration. These processes can explain the therapeutic change in cognitive, emotional and behavioral functioning of the clients. Neuropsychology expands an understanding of art therapy working mechanisms and gives solid support for art therapy practice.
